(1) Dated July 30, 1876. He is making his annual tour of country houses and will be back in Scotland in September. Addressed from St. Olave's Vicarage, York; (2) Dated Nov. 26, 1876. Donisthorpe thinks that a handbook of philology is urgently needed. He also mentions patenting his process for photographing motion. Addressed from 42 Marine Parade, Brighton; (3) Dated Dec. 16, 1883. Mentions a pamphlet on education that Fleay sent him and lectures Fleay delivered; asks if he knows Earl Fortescue. Addressed from 32 Pe[rn?]bridge Villas, W.; (4) Printed date: 188_. Mentions reading Fleay's work on spelling reform; refers to sending a letter of Lord Fortescue referring to Fleay's lecture. (5) Dated Dec. 19 188[5?]. Mentions meeting on Friday; Donisthorpe has sent his copy of Fleay's lectures on state interference in education to Lord Fortescue, who will agree with what Fleay says. (4) and (5) on printed letterhead from Liberty & Property Defence League, 4 Westminster Chambers, Victoria Street, London, S.W.
